近日，今年快43岁的基拉·赛特尔在接受采访时表示，能接到这个角色，领唱这首歌像是上天赐予的礼物“我早上醒来照着镜子问自己，我真的得到了这个机会吗?”

基拉·赛特尔说，她每次唱这首歌都感到“艰难”，因为歌词的描述和她的生活太像，每次演唱都会流泪。

出生在夏威夷的她妈妈是新西兰籍波利尼西亚人，爸爸则是英国人，她是家中五个孩子里最大的一个。由于他的父母种族不同，家人一直生活在别人异样的眼光里。他们几个孩子都是混血，小时候也弄不清自己到底属于哪里人。小时候在学校里基拉·塞特尔没少受到霸凌。
