大卫·摩斯(david morse)，1953年10月11日出生于美国马萨诸塞州的汉密尔顿，父亲查尔斯·摩斯，母亲杰奎琳·摩斯，一共有3个妹妹。年轻时在威廉·埃斯珀摄影工作室学习表演。1994年加州地震后，举家搬至费城居住。大卫·摩斯从上世纪70年代起，就开始了他的剧院演出生涯，在1971年到1977年间，曾在波士顿巡演剧团中担任专职演员。70年代末，他来到纽约的巡演剧团继续表演，到了1980年，他的第一个电影形象，是理查德·唐纳的《真正朋友》中的主角。
